Chickadee

Ahh!!! What a fine day this was for gathering subject matter for the chickadee painting. I was in a clearing in a pine woods one Sunday afternoon, when I caught a glimpse of this little bird flying back and forth from its home in the rotted tree, fetching bugs for its young. I set up my tripod, mounted my camera with a twenty foot plunger, waited for just the right moment...and voila...captured it.
The background of this painting was airbrushed, and I used subject matter from several photographs to add interest to this composition.
